Here at Regis Fire Protection, we’re committed to keeping you informed and compliant with fire safety regulations. There’s a new law coming into effect soon that will impact fire extinguisher service contracts, and we want to ensure you have all the details.
Environmental Concerns Lead to New Disposal Regulations
The Environmental Agency has implemented a new regulation to protect our waterways. Fire extinguisher foam, previously allowed for disposal through water systems, will now require incineration. This change aims to minimize environmental damage caused by these compounds.
What This Means for Your Service Contract
As a result of this new regulation, we’ll be gradually swapping out foam extinguishers for water extinguishers wherever possible during your regular service visits. However, some areas, due to specific fire risks, may still require a foam extinguisher.
Impact on Costs
There will be a one-off charge associated with the proper disposal and incineration of used foam extinguishers. Unfortunately, this cost will need to be passed on to our clients.
We’re Here to Help
Our team is here to answer any questions you may have about the new regulations and how they might affect your specific fire extinguisher needs. We’ll work with you to ensure your business remains compliant and your fire safety plan is up-to-date.
Stay Informed
We’ll continue to provide updates as we learn more about the implementation of this new law. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact us for further information or to schedule your next fire extinguisher service.
Together, we can prioritize fire safety and environmental protection.
